Actor and therapist Beverley Bishop took her acclaimed one-woman theatre show ‘Finding Magic’ to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August, and on her way up to Edinburgh she visited us for a one-off creative workshop based on the show.
Bev used the magic of creativity to help attendees harness their own magic and lust for life, and shared some of the tools she’s used to find hers again. A truly powerful workshop that we all enjoyed. Thanks so much Bev.
Bev’s show ‘Finding Magic’ is about based on her journey through grief, healing and acceptance after losing her son Jess to suicide in 2018. Described by audiences as a “moving and beautifully crafted piece of theatre”, ‘Finding Magic’ uses storytelling, comedy and magic to introduce the audience to Bev’s new reality of unpredictable triggers, clichés and flashbacks. She uses her trademark warmth and charm to invite them to share in the new-found surreal humour she deploys to rediscover her own magic after bereavement. Ultimately, ‘Finding Magic’ is a story of loss, longing, love and laughter.
